LOIS APPLICATION 2018/19

LOIS 2018/19 offers professional development for 20 researchers and scientists from various scientific disciplines (including natural sciences, social sciences, applied sciences and humanities).

LOIS applicants need to be affiliated with a university or another research institution, hold a doctoral degree, have a minimum of three years of relevant experience as scientific researchers and demonstrate proficiency in written and spoken English.

All applications must be submitted via our online application portal by November 15, 2017. If you experience any difficulties with the submission, please contact us at office.ois@lbg.ac.at. All applications will be pre-filtered according to formal criteria. Formally qualified applications will subsequently be reviewed by an international jury of Open Innovation in Science experts.

Applicants will be informed about their admission via e-mail by December 15, 2017!

 

Stifterverband grants

In order to support outstanding German researchers, Stifterverband offers two full grants for attending the Lab for Open Innovation in Science (LOIS) 2018/19. Stifterverband is a business community initiative advocating long-term improvement of the German education and research landscape. Funding is provided for the full program fee of 5.500 Euros (travel and accommodation not included).

Stifterverband grants are open to applicants who meet the following criteria:

  • Employment at a German institution/university or the German branch of an institution/university and/or German citizenship
  • Submission of an application letter:
    Describe in max 300 words how you plan to share your learning from LOIS. Concretize your ideas on how you will transfer your knowledge and how your institution and its partners will benefit from your participation. Name potential partners and their role (e.g. partner institutions, experts) in this.

To be sent to office.ois@lbg.ac.at in pdf-format before the application deadline (Nov 15, 2017)

Applicants will be informed if they have been admitted and will receive the grant via e-mail by December 15, 2017!

WEBINAR FOR LOIS 2018/19

When: September 27, 2017 3-4 PM (UTC +2 / CEST)

What: The webinar will be hosted by Marion Poetz, academic director of LOIS, innovation professor at Copenhagen Business School and scientific director of the Ludwig Boltzmann Gesellschaft’s Open Innovation in Science Research and Competence Center (OIS Center).

After a brief introduction of the training that enables scientists to integrate OIS practices into their day-to-day work LOIS 2016/17 alumna Andrea Olschewski, Vice-President for Medicine at Johannes Kepler University Linz, will share her experience. In a fireside chat challenges and opportunities of applying Open Innovation principles and methods in scientific research processes will be discussed. There will be an opportunity to ask questions throughout the webinar which will be answered by the LOIS Program Manager and a LOIS 2016/17 alumnus; additionally there is a live Q&A session in the second half of the webinar.
